1. Clothing
I tend to wear long sleeve shirts and trousers all the time. Some clothing brands even promise to have UPF rated technology (UPF+50) to protect you from the sun.
2. Hat
Hats that are wide brimmed and regular caps, some even cover your neck (they don’t look sexy but they do keep the back of your neck from burning). As long as they are breathable so the sweat doesn’t stay on the hat. In hot climates this might not be such a problem, but it will in cold weather.
3. Nose guards
These are great in long and sunny hikes! Absolutely love these. I have recently even discovered one that covers not just the nose, but also the cheeks! definitely on my to-buy list!
4. Sunblock
Although there has been some controversy about sunblock and its ingredients. Look for a natural product if needed, but always take one with you. I tend to buy SPF +50 and put it every hour. There are also SPF +100 but the one I’d ve tried was too thick and harder to put on when you are in a hurry.
5. Lip balm with SPF
Yes, your lips can get burnt too. There are some products out there with some SPF. Worth buying and don’t forget to use it of course!
